There are no rail lines to Cajamarca. No highways. No direct flights. To get here, you’ll need to take a 16-hour bus trip from Lima, after, of course, you found your way to Lima in the first place. One of Peru’s highest cities in the Andes Mountains, this ancient city rests huddled between the Andes Mountains, known for their brilliant peaks and the untouched city that evaded the hands of Pizzaro: Machu Picchu.

And outside of Cajamarca sits the village where this coffee comes from, El Horcon. 

Six smallholder farmers form this certified Organic single-origin. The collective, COOPAFSI, brings them together and helps coffee farmers in one of Peru’s most impoverished districts find sustainable markets for their specialty grade coffee and improve their livelihoods.
